So as previously mentioned - it's getting to be winter time, it's cold, and you want someone other than your cat to cuddle up with. Everyone is drunk off holiday spirit (or spirits), which makes the idea of a relationship that much lovlier. However, before jumping on that bandwagon (I swear I'm not a miserable old hag - yet), perhaps there are some things you should consider...

I love the classic "So what do you look for in a guy?" first date question. That's the equivalent of telling a sleezy car dealer what you're looking for in a vehicle - and mysteriously - he has exactly what you're looking for. Once you answer that question - the shmuck you're trying to date is going to try to be X, Y, and Z. And girls (sadly, I've done it too) are just as guilty.

So many of us love to be in love. I am all for love, please don't take me for a cynical old wench (like I said, yet). But let's face it, you can't go out looking for X, Y, and Z. You can certainly have it in mind, and consider it, but sometimes, you have to let the dating rubrick go. Moreover, considering looking for someone to have a good time with might not be a bad idea, maybe after you realize how much fun you have with them, they will become X, Y, and Z. The quest for love is a tough one, and often unsucessful. Sometimes, you just have to let that idea go, and let that certain someone walk through your door. Just remember to leave it unlocked, and all that that implies.
